Remove the decals and the stupid badge, and I'm all for it. Electric conversions are cool.

No.

Electric conversions, yes. Craptacular electric conversion on what might have once been a terrific hoonmobile? Not so fond.

I'd buy a little Geo to make a project like that. I shouldn't show this to a family friend with an EV.

True, but I guess we don't know the full story. I just assumed the original engine was damaged beyond repair, or missing completely, when this guy got a hold of the car. But yeah, if it was already working, this is stupid.

I think this is a pretty common chassis for an electric conversion. I'd run into a guy who had one of these and a rabbit pickup he'd also converted to electric when I used to live in WA.

A 924S might be cry worthy, but a standard 924's not a big deal. I've actually looked into what it'd take to make my Corvair an EV (spoilers: not worth it).

There is an electric MG Midget somewhere here in the Northern Va are that I would see on occasion. Freaked me out when I was walking past and it started to back out and then go forward, with no motor noise.

I think what kills me most is that the range is only 20-40 miles. That just seems like bad planning, or maybe ... I don't know, a bad reason to do that to the car.

I think it's awesome someone has taken the initiative to make their own EV. As much as I dislike them, this is the type of ingenuity that helps technology advance. But get rid of the stupid stickers, please.

They... took away... the popup headlights...

I'd rather push a Porsche 924 than drive a Prius, so at least it has that going in its favor...

lololololololololol
That's hilarious.
Also, I'mma need those clear headlamp covers soon. I de-eyeballed the 944 yesterday. SUCCESS.

924 came with the same 110-hp I4 that was in the Gremlin. THE GREMLIN. Tell me someone trashed the air-cooled flat-6 from a contemporary 911, then I might shed a tear.
As others have said: heat-gun to the sticker and it's an interesting swap.
